SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Metallica’s epic M72 World Tour is rolling into Syracuse, with the JMA Wireless Dome hosting one of the city’s biggest shows of the year this Saturday. With thousands of fans expected and ongoing construction around the area, here’s a helpful guide to make your concert night smooth and unforgettable.
Event Schedule — Concert Day at a Glance
- Parking Lots Open: 10:30 a.m.
- Shuttle Bus Service Begins: 11:30 a.m. (departing from Skytop, Colvin, and Comstock lots)
- Enhanced Experience Check-In: Opens at 2:00 p.m. at Gate N
- Dome Doors Open: 4:00 p.m.
- Show Starts: 6:00 p.m.
Parking and Traffic Tips
- Heavy traffic is expected — plan ahead and leave early.
- Parking near the Dome is not allowed.
- To simplify your arrival, buy a parking pass for the SkyTop lot in advance.
- Use the Waze app for real-time routing to designated parking areas.
For University Avenue Garage Permit Holders:
Due to construction, avoid I-81 Exit 18. Instead, take I-690, exit at Teall Ave (Exit 14), then proceed to Erie Blvd and turn left onto Walnut Ave for garage access.
Rideshare Information
For smoother rideshare service, use the university’s recommended drop-off and pick-up zones:
- Newhouse Loop (Waverly Avenue & South Crouse Avenue) — Exit through Gates M & N.
- Bird Library (Waverly Avenue side) — Also accessible via Gates M & N.
Tickets and Venue Entry
- Save your ticket to your phone’s mobile wallet — screenshots won’t be accepted.
- Re-entry is prohibited: once you leave, you cannot return.
- The Dome is entirely cashless — cards and digital payments only.
